In previous posts about VuFind I considered it being put to use in place of the library catalogs of academic libraries. I have been giving thought to how VuFind might apply to other types of libraries and collections.
For example, how useful is VuFind as a tool when applied to non-book items and artifacts? Digital collections?
I spend a lot of my time at work using the State Historical Society’s archival collections. I just finished reading and selecting soldiers’ WWII correspondence for a digitization project. Now I’m working on a project to digitize audio of interviews with Holocaust survivors. I wonder how VuFind would represent such collections in both original and digital formats.
Is there a way to use VuFind so digital and physical collections could be simultaneously searched and accessed (or at least give the appearance of doing so)? Could it be used as a sort of bridge?

Danika,
I really like your blog. I appreciate your positivity, as it’s something I have seemed to lose since beginning SLIS.
I’ll continue to check back; your writing style is great!
Thanks for a boost in the positivity realm.
